Nov.29th Through Dec.11 Mark Garber along with Myron Wengerd, And Conrad Wengerd traveled to Dili, East Timor. There They spent time with Brother Lucas, and his group of believers.
The main reason for the trip was to ordain Lucas as the Pastor of the church in Dili.
The Dec. 2017 trip to East Timor was a very significant and divinely ordered time as much was accomplished in the new church in Dili. The most important event was ordaining Brother Lucas as the first Pastor in the new church God is raising up in the capital, Dili. We also had a number of services preaching messages that were relevant to establishing a new Body of Believers. The Timorese brothers & sisters seem to have a real hunger and thirst for the things of God and wanted to meet often with us.
God is raising up a number of these Believers to be sent out into other Districts to minister the gospel. So we spent a significant amount of time with them; giving leadership teachings and having fellowship with them. Our Timorese brothers and sisters were very appreciative of our visit and it was also a tremendous blessing to us for the time we spent with them. And all of this testifies to the power of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the advancements of His kingdom in that Nation! May He be glorified in all this! Hallelujah!
In His Service,
Mark Garber
I am so thankful to have had the privilege to travel to East Timor with brother Mark and Myron.
One thing that stood out to me was the spiritual connection I had with brothers and sisters that I had never met before. Pastor Lucas is a very special man of God, and a dear brother whom God has given great gifts in ministering the gospel, but I think what I appreciate most about him is his heart to reach lost souls. Through him God is raising up a team of missionaries to be sent forth to reach the country of East Timor. Their hunger for Christ and enthusiasm for the gospel inspires me. And through them I believe we are seeing what is the beginning of a Great Harvest. I very much look forward to my next visit and to seeing what God will do until then.

My time in East Timor was very full and busy ministering in the capital Dili and also in Maliana & Suai. There is a real hunger for the Gospel in Timor and I was able to see that first hand as we went from place to place.
I also counted it a high honor and privilege to minister with Brother Lucas and the other native believers that made up our Ministry Team. Which included Fina and Sophia in Suai and Maco a young man full of zeal for the Lord. Matteus, another zealous young man, went to Maliana ahead of our trip to prepared a group of young men for a meeting when we arrived.
The humility and simplicity with which these young believers give of themselves to willingly serve others was inspiring.
One of biggest hindrances in getting the Gospel out is the lack of finances. Please pray for God's supply to be released that our fellow believers would be able to travel to the different places where people are waiting to hear the Gospel and also so that Lucas and his Team can go minister to the new believers.
There are a number of evangelical churches in Dili, but Lucas is not aware that any of them has much of a vision to reach outside of the Dili Area. It is very difficult to travel in a lot of places because of the mountains and bad roads. (We had to rent a four wheel drive vehicle for our trip to Suai.)
Lucas's vision and burden is to be able to minister in all 13 Districts of East Timor and for God to raise up Laborers to send into every District. There are a number of young people well on the way to further maturity and will hopefully be ready to send out before long. Matteus is one that has been ministering in Maliana already. And here again it will take significant finances for these endeavors. One of the concerns nearest to my heart in all of these things is that none of the harvest is lost. And that is where the urgency of the times comes in and of course God knows all this. May each of us know what our part is in advancing the Kingdom of God on earth. Hallelujah!
